Les filles au pair

It was Mother's Day in France - Fête des mamans.  We had a big dinner and then some really good dinner.

Lauren's twin Bec and her friend Jess came and are leaving tomorrow morning for Paris.

Some cute guys that I sneak pictures of...

Also a cute dog -

Les femmes qui dansent, elles sont terribles

I went to a little milonga in Caen.  It was about 3 minutes, walking, from my house.  That was really convenient.  But every woman there, except for the teacher, was horrible!  How can you be that old and be so horrible.  Well, there are a couple like that in Gainesville.  Also, there was this crazy lady, just like the crazy lady in Gainesville.

Most of the men were bad too, except for the teacher and one other.  I might return.  I don't know.  It didn't get me excited at all.  Usually I have this natural high after I'm done dancing and now - nothing.  Ooof.

très fatiguée

I'm home alone with the kids for I don't know how long and I'm so tired.  I have some kind of cold or allergies or something, so I didn't sleep too well.  I'll make it. I'll make it until tango tonight - if Fred lets me go.  It's like 3 minutes from their house, walking.  Parfait!

If Richard were reading this blog (which he's not) and if he were in France, he wouldn't dance with me.  He's convinced that I got him sick last winter.  Me - when everyone else was sick.  It's just that I hid it for 2 months.  But I had allergies.  That's why, when I took my allergy medicine, I was instantly better.

So I didn't get dances from Richard for a while.  Revenge tango.

Ugh.  My throat is sore and my eyes are heavy and I can't hear out of my left ear.  Ugh.

Le nouveau tableau

My mom's newest painting of my tango shoes.

Tu es "super cooker"

Heureusement, I cook better than I drive.  Soon though, I will drive as well as I cook, which is really good.  I told Fred about my family and how my nana cooks so much and how I learned from her.  He asked if my family was "gros."  I thought that meant big, like I have a lot of people in my family.  However, the word for that would be grande.  So he started telling me about how dangerous it was to be gros.  So I realized that gros means fat.

I drove the kids to school.  I only stalled once on a big hill.  Last night Fred took me around the city and made me do a hill start about 10 times.  I did really well, but I guess I was nervous today.

After taking the kids to school, I took a nice walk around the neighborhood.

Beaucoup des photos

I finally have the adaptor for my computer, so this is my first post in France from my computer. Today was my day off, so I met Lauren downtown in the city of Caen.  We went shopping, ate, and saw a movie.  Parfait!

I think that French flight attendents are prettier than American ones.  Well maybe not, but their outfits are better.  Matching scarves!

Here are some pictures of my host family's beautiful home.

They greeted me with pancakes.  The fish that Jade had won earlier was there.  Their cat, Kiera, was sunning in the backyard.  He has a girl's name because they thought he was a girl, but they thought wrong.

They have a treehouse type thing.  Here is the view of the house from the tree and...Lauren.

Beaucoup des fleurs...everywhere!

The view from my window -

The balcony of the eldest girl's room...Then I found a tree to climb.  Here are pictures of the tree and the view from the tree.

This one's for you Mr. Karadin.

Some pictures from around town...
