Here are some more flowers (I know, boring) from my last walk in Normandy.

Une promenade

I went for another walk yesterday after dropping off all three kids at the school.  I'm really getting to like driving a manual transmission car.  It gives you something else to do, and I like multitasking.  Anyway, here are some attempts to take a couple of pictures of myself.

Then I went to the lake near their house and there were some guys hanging out.  As I left, one guy stopped me and asked me something, but I didn't understand.  Eventually, I figured out that he was asking me out on a date the next night!  Instead of going through why I couldn't go with him, I gave him a fake name so he couldn't find me on facebook.  Then he asked for a kiss on the cheek.  That I just had to refuse.

I heard that it's difficult to find poppies in Pensacola, but they are everywhere here.

They are very gangster here in France.  Especially in this well-to-do neighborhood.  Well, they do have a lot of graffiti at least.

I gathered a lot of flowers as I walked around the neighborhood for a petit bouquet des fleurs.

One of many fields (champ)-  You can see the poppies at the bottom of the picture.

There's a beautiful sunset outside my window almost every day.

Les lapins

Will you all still love me when I'm fat?  The food here is wonderful.  The Carluers are wonderful cooks.  There are these bread roll things that I eat all the time.  It's just bad.  I'm not dancing as much either.  Uh oh.

Today was my day off, and I went to the city by myself for some shopping.  It was quite fun.

I found yet another massive Catholic church.

Then I found a little café where I had something.  Not quite sure what it was.  It was bland.

Then I went to a crêperie and had one with chocolate and bananas.  It was too rich.

Apparently, you can find hippies anywhere, anytime.

The French are a bit more liberal with their store mannequins than I had expected.

These are the photos when I really had no idea where I was.  As long as I'm not lost in the dark, I'm pretty much ok.  Unfortunately, I don't have a working phone.  But other people do.

I finally got back to where I needed to be and had a second dessert.  Also, it took me a couple of days to be able to pronounce dessert in French.  The way I was saying it was the French word for desert.

While waiting for the bus, I saw about 4 bunnies.  Lapins.  It is really like Mary Poppins here.

I really can't believe it's June.  My mom will be here in just a few weeks, and we'll be on our way to Paris.  And then home.  I love France, but I will be very glad to be back in Pensacola to see people.

Les filles au pair

It was Mother's Day in France - Fête des mamans.  We had a big dinner and then some really good dinner.

Lauren's twin Bec and her friend Jess came and are leaving tomorrow morning for Paris.

Some cute guys that I sneak pictures of...

Also a cute dog -

Les femmes qui dansent, elles sont terribles

I went to a little milonga in Caen.  It was about 3 minutes, walking, from my house.  That was really convenient.  But every woman there, except for the teacher, was horrible!  How can you be that old and be so horrible.  Well, there are a couple like that in Gainesville.  Also, there was this crazy lady, just like the crazy lady in Gainesville.

Most of the men were bad too, except for the teacher and one other.  I might return.  I don't know.  It didn't get me excited at all.  Usually I have this natural high after I'm done dancing and now - nothing.  Ooof.

très fatiguée

I'm home alone with the kids for I don't know how long and I'm so tired.  I have some kind of cold or allergies or something, so I didn't sleep too well.  I'll make it. I'll make it until tango tonight - if Fred lets me go.  It's like 3 minutes from their house, walking.  Parfait!

If Richard were reading this blog (which he's not) and if he were in France, he wouldn't dance with me.  He's convinced that I got him sick last winter.  Me - when everyone else was sick.  It's just that I hid it for 2 months.  But I had allergies.  That's why, when I took my allergy medicine, I was instantly better.

So I didn't get dances from Richard for a while.  Revenge tango.

Ugh.  My throat is sore and my eyes are heavy and I can't hear out of my left ear.  Ugh.
